KunstLab at TEDx about The 9th Art

Tom Kortbeek recently made a presentation at TEDx Zwolle to tell about this concept ‘The 9th Art’ and to emphasize the importance of art for society and to emphasize the importance of society for the arts.

Tom: ‘Art has a problem: it has disconnected itself from society.’
But he continues his optimistic speech: ‘Our future, all of our world problems are not safe by politicians alone, but also by artist and their art. The people that are running our business, our society, mostly think linear are qualifying the given solutions only by their direct financial value, are not capable of giving us the right views, the right techniques or the right possibilities any longer. Art in the future will be about exploring new grounds, taking way boundaries and create new, innovative even world saving solutions.’
